Becoming a Wildwoodian

It was with great anticipation that my husband Dave and I became residents of Wildwood. We moved in on the due-date of our first child, and were entering into a new home, a new neighbourhood and a new life all at once. We knew we had chosen the right neighborhood when we got possession of our new house and discovered a card from the previous owner welcoming us to our new home and introducing us to the neighbours on our street by name on a little hand-drawn map! Since that time, it has been our pleasure to become involved in the Wildwood community through the community garden stepping stones project; skating, tennis and soccer lessons; Wednesday morning playgroup, annual clean-up and volunteering for the Wildwood Community Association (WCA) Board.

We know that our community depends on an ecology of talents in order to make it the great place that it is: we need artists, gardeners, sports enthusiasts, teachers, grandparents, accountants, organizers, event planners, parents, children – and much more – to help our community thrive.

The WCA Board is currently seeking members of our community to come forward to lend your talents to help keep Wildwood a great place to live. If you have a few hours of time every month to dedicate to our community, please consider joining the Board. We also encourage you to purchase or renew your membership to show your support for Wildwood and all of the great benefits we all enjoy by living here. Membership benefits include: annual community clean-up, access to tennis courts, outdoor skating rink, Warbler newsletter, family parties, adult pub nights, community programs and activities, community garden… and much more! We are moving toward an on-line membership system to streamline and improve our membership process. Email for more information.

Wishing all Wildwoodians a great spring – looking forward to seeing you at the clean-up, on the field, at the garden, at a pub-night, or the family picnic!
