WCA Board Meeting Highlights Jun 17, 2014

  • Wildwood Family Picnic Success: We had beautiful weather on June 7th for the picnic at Edworthy Park, with about 150 attending and preparing delicious food, AND keeping Wildwood green by bringing their own plates and cutlery.
  • Wildwood Clean Up: Another great day was enjoyed at the 36th annual Clean Up! There were 17 trucks and 65 volunteers – a new record. We filled six compactor trucks, three organics trucks, one metals bin and had lots of electronics.
  • Wildwood Garden: The Garden is running smoothly. The first Children’s Gardening program was a success with 18 children and their parents. There are three more sessions: June 14, July 19 and August 25.
  • Grant Received: We received confirmation of a capital conservation grant from the City to assist us in insulating the Community Hall attic, re-fencing the hockey rink and re-grading the parking lot.
  • Water Spiral Update: Work progresses on the Garden art sculpture/water wheel, with the hole to be dug on Friday, June 20th with the help of young community volunteers. There has been great community help and support, and much interest from outside the community!
  • WCA Memberships: There have been questions from some residents asking how they can buy a membership. You can purchase memberships directly online or download the Membership Application form and drop off with your cheque (no cash please) in the mailbox at the Community Hall: www.mywildwood.ca/memberships.
  • Summer Break: The Board will reconvene meetings in September (16th) – have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
