WCA Board Meeting Highlights – Sept 16, 2014

  • Wildwood Events: There are going to be changes to some of our upcoming events.
  • Community Hall: Bookings were busy over the summer with Pedalheads and Mad Science. Almost every Friday, Saturday and Sunday is booked through January.
  • Hall Landscaping: Grading and landscaping of the area north of the hall is complete; a fire inspection was conducted in the hall and was passed.
  • Children’s Garden Program: The program was a success. 4 sessions were held and each attended by between 12 and 20 children. The Harvest Festival is coming on September 27th. )
  • Casino: The next casino is on February 14th and 15th a mark your calendars and volunteer for a shift!
  • Shaganappi Library: Councillor Evan Woolley attended the meeting and advised that the Shaganappi Library is moving to the 2nd floor Westbrook LRT Station building around February.
  • Water Spiral: The Water Spiral in the community garden is near complete and will be “opened” at the Harvest Festival.
  • Handyman: The WCA is looking for a handyman to carry out some tasks at the community hall and grounds – contact facilities@mywildwood.ca if you’re interested.
  • Affordable Housing Development: Lee Provost and councillor Evan Woolley discussed the affordable housing development proposal with the Board.
