WCA Board Meeting Highlights – Mar 17, 2015

iSlow Signs: Two iSlow signs have been installed by the City along 45th Street. Unfortunately, their positioning isn’t great and the signs aren’t perfectly visible. We are looking at getting a couple more signs. The bigger question is “how do we get people to drive more responsibly in this community – especially in school and playground zones?”

Edworthy Park Funds: There are funds earmarked by the City to do some work in Edworthy Park. The WCA is trying to have some influence over the committee struck to review the upgrades and ensure a Wildwood resident is on the committee to input to any changes.
Pickleball: Our sports director, along with some keen community residents, is exploring starting pickleball in our community using the existing tennis courts. Stay tuned!

AGM: The AGM will be held on Tuesday, April 28th starting at 7:30 – mark your calendars and plan to attend. There are several board position vacancies. Please consider taking on one of these roles and participate in our fine community. The roles can be shared meaning less work for any one person.

Capital Projects: Our facilities maintenance directors, Erwan and Phil, reviewed the list of large and small projects that have been completed to keep the hall, rink and surrounding area in top shape. There’s been constant activity and that will continue. The Board had a brief discussion about capital projects that could be undertaken to enhance the facilities. Do you have any ideas? Would you like to see something specific in Wildwood for use by residents and that would enhance the community? Would you be willing to champion a project? Show your interest!
