It’s going to be a busy spring in Wildwood.

It has been a great 2016 so far in Wildwood! A big thank you to the program and event organizers for the programs that ran this winter, including Learn to Skate, Shinny, Yoga, Movie Night, Wine Tasting, and the Lego Contest. Huge thanks as well to our Rink Rats ice rink maintenance crew that kept our ice in great condition, despite all of the warm weather!

As you can tell from this month’s issue, with Wildwood Community Association has many events and programs coming up this spring. Soccer registration is scheduled for March 2nd for those with little ones, the March 12th St. Patty’s day party registration is now open, the community clean-up is scheduled for May 28th, and numerous garden workshops are planned. Keep an eye on upcoming Warbler issues and mywildwood.ca for information on spring and summer Tennis programs for children and adults.

The Wildwood Community and the Association appreciates all of our volunteers’ time and efforts, and we welcome any amount of time new volunteers have to give. Volunteer opportunities can range from a few hours for an event to a regular commitment like a board position. Please come to the Annual General Meeting on April 26 to learn more about how you can get involved and get to know your neighbours.

With the warm weather, there have been vandalism and prowlers disturbing cars in the community recently. Please keep an eye out around your Community Centre and on the streets of Wildwood for suspicious activity and report crimes in progress to 911. For crimes not in progress (e.g., car vandalism that happened overnight), these can be reported to the Calgary Police non-emergency line or online reporting system. You can also call 311 or use the 311 app to have the City attend to maintenance items like burnt out streetlights or potholes. Thanks for your help in keeping Wildwood safe!

We look forward to seeing you all out and about in our community this spring whether at one of our programs, activities, or just enjoying our great community.
