Wildwood Casino 2025 – Wildwood Community Association

Dear Wildwood Neighbours and Friends,

I’m pleased to announce the Wildwood Community Association’s 2025 casino will take place on February 18 and 19, 2025.

This important fundraiser generates a significant portion of the operating budget to keep our community hall operational. The funds raised from the casino pays for the building’s utilities year-round, ongoing maintenance and equipment repairs, recycling + garbage, snow removal, etc.

Did you know the WCA community hall is over 65 years old? This means it’s about the same age as most of the homes in our neighborhood. Just as your own home requires regular upkeep, cleaning, repairs, and maintenance to ensure it remains safe and comfortable, so does our community building. We anticipate some major maintenance items coming up due in the next couple of years such as replacement of the water heater and outside windows. With less neighbours purchasing our annual community membership, renting out the hall has become our primary source of revenue.

Imagine a Wildwood without tennis courts, a community garden, an ice rink, and a physical gathering space. What kind of programs would no longer have a home? Where would we be able to put on events like Winterfest, Harvest Festival, Tour de Wildwood and the Artisan Market?

This is where YOU come in. This upcoming casino is only made possible with volunteers, and we must fill all positions in order to receive funding. We’re counting on you to help preserve the physical heart of our community.

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER

All volunteers must be 18+ years of age. No experience is necessary.

A meal and refreshments are provided to volunteers during their shift. The casino offers free on-site underground parking and carpooling can be arranged.

We can also reimburse for taxi or bus travel, babysitting or adult respite care expenses to help make it easier for you to volunteer. Email casino@mywildwood.ca to inquire.
