White Oak/Spruce Drive Playground Rebuild!

White Oak Playground Replacement Update
We have entered the homestretch of the rebuild for the White Oak/Spruce Drive playground!

This initiative began over 14 months ago with resident Brian Van Vliet coming forward to take the lead on the project and forming a committee with Felicia Esposito, Alastair Patterson, Kevin Philips and Heather Audet. There have been grant proposals, meetings with city and parks representatives, meetings with indigenous artists and representatives, engagement and input from the community, as well as a lot of quote and proposal reviews.

The committee is thankful that they were able to partner with the Calgary Parks Foundation, both in receiving grant funds and the immense support in working through the donation process, collecting funds, sending out RFP’s, and reviewing the proposals. Add to that the incredible support from the City of Calgary itself, both financially and logistically, through Ron Buchan and his effective team at the Parks department, we are excited to present the final design.

An installation date of July 7 and 8 has been selected (weather dependent)

The committee is also in the final stretches of fundraising and need your help!  Here are two ways you can contribute to funding the playground:
