When and Where

Location: Wildwood Community Outdoor Rink (4411 Spruce Dr. SW)

Dates: Sundays, January 8 – February  6, 2023 (6 lessons).

Registration

Online Registration starts November 22 at 6PM, cost is $60.00 per child.

An active 2022 Wildwood Community Association membership is required to register for Learn to Skate – for more information about memberships and current fees, click here. If you need to renew your WCA membership, you can do so at the same time as registering for Learn to Skate.

Program Information

Equipment

Children should bring their own skates and all participants must wear a helmet during the skating lessons.

Timely arrival

Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to ensure that your child is ready to skate on time. There is a Skate Room on the south side of the Community Hall with a washroom and an area to change into skates.

Cancellation

Lessons may be cancelled if

  • Wind chill or ambient temperature is -20⁰C or below at 9:00am
  • Ice conditions are poor (i.e. it’s too warm!)

You will receive an email by 9:00am if lessons are cancelled, otherwise dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to skate!

Cancelled lessons will be postponed to another Sunday after February 6th. There will be no refunds issued.

Parent attendance

All children involved in the 3 – 5 year old lessons must be accompanied by an adult, at all times on the ice.

Parents are required to be available for their children during lesson times (i.e. not necessarily on the ice, but within reach e.g. skate room).

Snacks and Hot Chocolate

Due to COVID-19, Hot Chocolate will not be provided, please bring some for your child post skate.

You are responsible for your child(ren)’s snacks.

Waiver

While we take all precautions possible, there are inherent risks involved in putting your child in skating lessons. Please be aware that by signing the consent form, you are absolving the Wildwood Community Association and anyone else involved in the Learn-to-Skate program from any liability.
